It isn't really the ducks that have the traction, but the microscopic symbiotic spiders embedded in the soles of their webbed feet. These same spiders give the duck its distinctive quack, unique among birddom.
Those little spiders are like reverse AstroGlide. Instead of being able to fit a Mack Truck into a doghouse, you couldn't even fit a blade of grass in one. They have THAT much traction.
I thought it was the Egyptian nanno robots that gave the robot it's quack!
